Battery Replacement

When it’s time to replace the battery in your power supply unit, you’ll need to buy the exact type and rating as the original battery. These are available at most specialist battery retailers. You’ll need a 12 volt, 7 or 7.2 Ah AGM sealed lead acid battery with six cells.

· Switch Off

Before you remove the old battery you must switch off power at the power point and unplug the power lead.

 

· Disconnect

Open the front cover and disconnect the red plug. Push out the tabs hold the battery, there’s one above and one below, then simply lift the battery out. Be careful it is quire heavy. Disconnect the black plug and remove the battery.

· Connect

To install a new battery reconnect the black plug to the new battery. Push the holding tabs out and insert the new battery into the power supply unit. Reconnect the red plug, making sure no wires are pinched by the battery or the cover. Close the cover and plug the unit back into the mains power point and turn it on. The new battery will take 24 hours to completely charge, just be aware some of your services might be unavailable for up to 10 minutes after battery replacement. Please make sure your old battery is recycled by taking it to a recycling center or exchanging it when buying the new battery.

When you replace the battery make sure you switch off power first, disconnect the plugs in the right order, get the right sort of replacement battery and connected to the power supply unit correctly.
